Gloss Over It
Growing up, I ate a lot of Popsicles during the summertime. Cherry Popsicles were my favorite, and they were always the first to disappear from the freezer. It wasn't that I particularly relished the cough-syrup taste. I ate cherry Popsicles because I was fond on the color they left behind on my lips. Now that I am older, and less inclined to devour frozen desserts on sticks, I've had to accept that there is no cherry-Popsicle-stain substitute. Apparently, the Popsicle red isn't a color that sophisticated cosmetic companies create for discriminating customers. But I have to think that Fresh was channeling my beloved cherry Popsicle when they created Gloss Absolute in Desire. Enriched with antioxidant pomegranate extract, restorative Shea butter, hydrating jojoba oil and skin soothing vitamin E, Gloss Absolute gives you the flushed summery look of Popsicle lips but without the high-fructose corn syrup part. Price: $24.

Ah, Miss Anne your comments took me back to my own summer memories of cherry popsicles and cherry stain lips. I think I may have to try Fresh's new gloss and have a cherry popsicle this summer,it has been a long time.

Lassie Jun 29th 2006 3:00PM
$24?????!!!! No way in hell would I pay $24!!!
What's in it, liquid gold? I swear, some suckers will blow any amount of money on anything, if they see it advertised.
christina Jun 29th 2006 3:00PM
i would rather get a cheap lip gloss than pay $24. thats a little crazy! you dont have to pay a huge price to look beautiful!! they have cherry flavors! Go to walmart!!
Kandyce Peterson Jun 29th 2006 3:08PM
I don't click to buy, I walk in and buy. So how about any suggestions as to where? I spend money as I choose. I earn it. LOTS of it. Try it, you'll like it!
Kitty Jun 29th 2006 3:17PM
Wow. $24? Eat a popsicle. Or go to Walgreens and find a similar product for tons cheaper. And while there, use the $22 you have left to pick up some milk and bread and other things that are essential for survival.
Sony Jun 29th 2006 3:20PM
I have to laugh after reading these posts, some of you posted exactly what I was thinking - $24 is ridiculous for lip gloss!
Crystal Jun 29th 2006 3:29PM
I thing i would have to buy the cherry lip gloss cause i like cherrys and of course i am a teenager and i have not better to speand my money on so why not buy it and try it?
Tyra Jun 29th 2006 3:33PM
I must admit that $24.00 is a lot for lip gloss, but for those of us who are not housewives and have our own money, or who are but have enough money to purchase whatever we want, even if it is silly and not a "Walmart" product, then more power to you. You only live once that I know of, and if you dare to splurge now and then on something that brings a fond childhood memory to an adult happy moment: My lip gloss cap is off to you! Just because you can't see past your own front lawn, dosen't mean that everyone else is also shortsighted!
brenda Jun 29th 2006 3:38PM
I think the price is too high,I wouldn,t pay more than 5 bucks for that.
Shanaynay Jun 29th 2006 3:38PM
You all are so right! I'm a teenager so naturally I spend alot of money buying cosemetics but $24 for lipgloss is outrageous! I have the same color that my I bought for $5 and it's from Lipsmackers! In fact it is called cherry blossom and it tastes just like a cherry popsicle! $24?
Anjie Jun 29th 2006 3:38PM
Ok, so $24 is a little pricey for basic lipgloss, pomegranate, shea, and all. BUT I did pay $36 for LipFusion and I must say I was well worth it. I am a huge skeptic of products that promise because most never deliver, but LipFusion did! I don't think they have flavors but they do have different colors, including clear that you can layer over your favorite color or penciled-in lips (for staying power).
lori Jun 29th 2006 3:43PM
i agree! if you think $24 is allot then dont buy it! I myself would even if it is just for the memory's.
oh ya who buy's makeup at walmart and walgreens HELLO have you ever heard of MAC!
vicki Jun 29th 2006 3:53PM

Heather Jun 29th 2006 4:00PM
I think this lipgloss sounds great!! What girl didn't eat cherry pops for cherry red lips??
I do have a comment for Jen however, I am confused, you seem rather angry at "housewives".....Did a group of angry housewives gang up on you and make you spend $24 on a lipgloss?
I know $24 sounds expensive, but if someone has the money to spend I really don't think anyone else should care!! Go on out there girls and re-live the summers of yesteryear!! You only live once and summer is way too short!!!!!!!!!ENJOY!!!
Susan Jun 29th 2006 4:03PM
The value of (any) item is always dependent on the purchasers willingess to buy the item - at any price.
Personally, if I really wanted the lip gloss, I would buy it. My husband and I have always had a little bit of what we call "foolish money". I think that is very important in what really is a very short life. I frankly feel $40 is a huge amount to spend on a good bottle of Scotch - I don't drink - but my husband loves his Scotch once in a while and that makes it worth it. That bottle of Scotch lasts him 2 months, about the same amount of time the lip gloss would last me. We have worked very hard all our lives and $24 or $40 every couple of months is a reward we most certainly deserve. ENJOY A BIT OF 'FOOLISH ' SPENDING...if your budget allows.
