World's Most Expensive Whiskies
Catching on to the fact that collecting and consuming very old whiskies is one of the most popular trends of recent years, Forbes put out a list of the most expensive whiskies that they could find. Fortunately for those in the market, whiskies have not been at the forefront of popularity for very long, meaning that while supplies are certainly not unlimited, there are more special-edition and small-batch options to choose from. Forbes' top ten are listed in categories. For example, the most expensive in the world is the Macallan Fine and Rare Collection, 1926 ($38,000), while the most expensive that you can still buy is the Macallan Fine & Rare Collection, 1939 ($10,125).
- Most Expensive Blended Scotch: Chivas Regal Royal Salute, 50 Year Old ($10,000)
- Most Expensive Highland Whisky: Glen Garioch, 1958, 46 Year Old ($2,600)
- Most Expensive Islay Whisky: Bruichladdich 40 Year Old ($2,500)
- Most Expensive Speyside Whisky: Glenfiddich 40 Year Old ($2,500)
- Most Expensive Campbeltown Whisky: Springbank 32 Year Old ($750)
- Most Expensive Lowland Whisky: Auchentoshan 1973 32 Year Old ($700)
- Most Expensive Bourbon: Evan Williams 23 Year Old Bourbon ($350)

I thought Johnny Walker had a "Blue" blend that went for >$200.00

Yeah, someone's confused. I don't understand why there are separate categories for "blended scotch" and "blended malt", since Scotch is malt whisky, they're the same thing (unless there was a blended malt whisky not made in Scotland that was more expensive than the most expensive blended Scotch.)
But Johnny Walker Green *is* Scotch -- but it's not blended! It's a vatted malt. Blue is a blended Scotch and a blended malt, but at $200, the 50yo Chivas is going to be a more expensive blended Scotch and blended malt.
That said, I don't trust any of the other numbers anyhow; the Morrison bottling of 1964 Bowmore bourbon cask is more expensive than that Bruichladdich (around $3000, I think), and Dalmore sold their last 62yo bottle for just over 25,000 GBP, and there's $50,000 1937 Glenfiddich available, and so on.
The Scotch blog did a good writeup on how silly it is to try to figure out what "the most expensive Scotch" is:
