Lionsgate, Estate of the Day

We've covered an estate named Lion's Gate before but I much prefer this Lionsgate. It's a home built in 1904 which sets on the Gulph River in Cohasset, Massachusetts. The home has been restored to its early American Gothic Style by the current owners. The home takes its name from the iron gate which features two large stone pillars topped with lions. The nearly ten acre estate includes a rose garden, French parterre garden with quatrefoil fish ponds, arbors, carved stone lion's seat, a two-hole golf course and putting green, as well as an inground gunite pool. The 16-room mansion includes old-fashioned details such as a parlor, a formal music space which opens to an enclosed porch and a wood paneled library. There are five bedrooms including a master suite that takes up the entire third floor. It is listed at $11.5 million. After the jump, New England Gothic gone light and airy.
