Oprah's New Plane

We recently mentioned Oprah's home improvements. Ever wonder how she commutes to her California home when she does her show in Chicago? Private plane, of course, and she will soon have a new plane to decorate. It has been reported that she will soon receive a custom-built Global Express XRS from Bombardier Aerospace. The $47-million executive jet has seating for 10 passengers and has a leather interior with designer fixtures for the bathroom and galley. There is an aft stateroom for naps as well as a crew rest area and of course a large main cabin with every amenity Oprah could possibly require.

Go for it Oprah!!! I am so proud of you. You share with others and you live large. I love how you give so unselfishly. I see all the poverty out there, but I give what I can. If I had Oprah's money, I would use it to help the poor world-wide, like she is doing. I have never wanted big cars, planes or a home, but I do want every human in the world to have good jobs and homes. There is too much in this world for anyone to suffer. Go for it Oprah and I am 63, but God has been excelllent to me also. I just finished college last month!

Doesn't anyone keep up with Oprah's giving. Everything that she gives away to her audience is donated to her by the vendors. All the help that she provides to people - the goods and services are given to Oprah. Nothing is out of her pocket - nothing is out of her personal wealth.

Yes - it is good that she does these things BUT any of us would do the same. In fact, look at the giving that we all do in an emergency such as in the case of "Katrina".

We all gave from our hearts and our money that we work for everyday. Oprah gives from the heart BUT not from her personal weath. If you don't believe me - check it out!

Roma does need to use spell check. I think before insulting someone you should at the very least get the spelling right. It was painful to read. Oprah is a class act who enjoys helping others.

Who cares if Oprah buys a new plane for herself. She does so much for so many and if you think she doesn't then you are basically full of shit. All I know is that if I was rich and spent my time opening an angel network, tried to help people in louisiana by buying them houses so they can start new lives, and traveled to Africa to help people become more aware about the AIDS eppidemic in the World. I think I would buy my own plane. That way I would be more comfortable not being at home all the time when I was trying to help so many. Thats just me though...

i think oprah is a very pretty women she has worked hard to get where she is. so what if she spends her money on what she wants im sure if deb had some education she would be able to make better comments on this matter keep up the great work oprah we love you

forget oprah. everyone thinks she is so generous. she gives out of her abundance,for the publicity,not because she really wants to. she always wants to be patted on the back for how good of a person she is. she makes me sick. any black female with half a brain could be like her. our politically correct society caters to the blacks. i doubt she had to do much at all to get to where she is. i think she is nothing more than a creation by some producer looking to cash in on the race card. naturally it worked,always does!

I think all of you that have posted mean and vivious comments about Oprah are merely envious.Oprah like so many other people have achieved the "American Dream." If Oprah decides to purchase 5 new airplanes and a couple more houses that is her choice. I do not see you saying anything about the Exxon Mobil Executive that just got a 90 million dollar petition. Which was your money. Oprah simply earned her money the old fashion way, she worked for it and invested. Deb, Tina and Melinda, get a hobby. No one is critizing how you spend your money. If I was Oprah I would have a pair of BASEBALL size diamonds in my hear and another on my finger. If she is having a gay relationship with Gale that is great for Gale and for Oprah. Green is not a great color for eveyone. You all should think about that.

Dear Ophra,
I think you are a fascinating woman. You have earned the right to speak your peace, give advise, and share your past experiences with the world. You have the intelligence of an understanding and loving person and views life from all aspects; the rich and the poor. You have been both and understand people; which is rare today. I admire you and the way that you share your wealth with the unfortunate people of the world and stand up for your people, esp. when it comes to AIDS and epodemics beyond the normal persons control.
My hat is off to you. God bless you...may you enjoy the flights in your new airplane, you deserve it.

We are all forgetting to look at the big picture here; while it is important to acknowledge that Oprah has done some pretty charitable things, one must also realize that with every tv host there is a trace of falseness. So while Oprah is very smart, recognize that she uses that intelligence and skill of hers to attract your attention (thus money). Being a buisiness woman she obviously understands that it's impossible to be yourself and be successful at the same time; there is some degree of fakeness that comes along with it. (No matter what, she is not allowed to have a bad day around people.) Long story short, realize that she has done a lot of good for those in need; but understand that she has a lot of America fooled, and does it in part because of how it will make her image look.

I respect Oprah for who she is and what she does for mankind. I think her shows do not reflect her flaunting her money - they merely show her compassion for her fellow person. I believe if we all felt this compassion and expressed it - the world would be better off. Congratulations on your new plane - you deserve it.

Oprah did have a rough childhood, worked hard to rise above her negative past, and earned her nice sizeable nest egg. It's her choice what she does with it.

How much would you give back to society if you had a few extra million dollars laying around?

I think it's nice that she shares her wealth in other countries. There also is a lot of need in this country too. I would like to see Oprah (and other celebs) put as much effort into giving back to this country as is done in other countries.

Just think how many homeless families could have been fed with the money that was spent on the Legend's Ball.

I like Oprah myself. I believe any time someone has alot of money someone is always going to be jealous and talk bad about them. I don't have a lot, but I have more than some of my friends have or had and that has caused us not to be friends anymore. Just because some likes things and buys things does not mean they are Materialistic. I have been accused of that too. As long as you give and love others God will continue to Bless you, because bottom line, its all God's blessings for each and every one of us.
