LAS Haxial: Cycling's $200 Helmet
I'll admit it: I was opposed to bike helmets for a long, long time. After all -- especially given my vanity -- what says "I love freedom! (even if I didn't finish Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead)" more than the wind running through my hair? What says "I'm a style-deaf dork" more than a mushroom-shaped brain bucket on my dome?Enter the LAS Haxial. Hailing from the northern Italian province of Bergamo, LAS helmets have been the Dolce & Gabbana of bike safety for more than 30 years.
Worn by cycling heartthrob Danielo di Luca (among others), the LAS Haxial boasts serious airflow, a removable interior with anti-bacterial treatment and -- if you want to pay a bit more -- a Ventilator in the colors of the Italian flag.
An American flag Ventilator is also available ... but ask yourself: WWDdLD? (What would Danilo di Luca do?)
