Private Party at the Burj Al Arab

The Burj Al Arab has been rented out for the next three days, all 18 floors of the sail-shaped, seven star hotel, at a cost of $1.8 million. Supermodel Naomi Campbell is footing the bill, celebrating her 36th birthday party with 72 hours of partying with a star-studded guest list and her millionaire boyfriend Badr Jafar. The hotel was recently upgraded from its status as a six star hotel to become the world's first seven star hotel and one can assume that the high standards of service will be upheld throughout Campbell's party.

Dawn, if someone needs to spend 1.8 million on a party, wedding or anything like that then there comes a point when it really is about the stuff and not the meaning of the event. Of course she has a "right" to do
whatever she wants. I really do not care, it is just the message of more, more, more.
I guess in my line of work I see things so much differently. As a mom, I have to explain to my children
that these are not the things the God put us on the planet for, that happiness is not derived from stuff.
It is tough to raise children in the age of the media
whores attempting to instill that the accumulation of
more things, a bigger better party is the essence of being a human being.

That $1.8 million...will create a hell of a economic revenue for the hotel....the workers and their families. Personally, I do not see anything wrong with her spending that kind of loot. The only difference in her donating the money for free to some charity...is that she is spending it on a service...that the hotel and it's workers...will have to work to get a piece of the loot to take care of her families and pay their bills. People spending money for services and goods is what makes the world go round...just ask the IRS! Naomi I commend you for contributing to the economic base....to keep people employed and viable to their communities and responsible for their family's economic well being! Naomi Campbell spending $1.8 million for her party...means at least one less famiy out of the clutches of poverty....and off of their community's welfare roster.
