Looking to Buy in the Dominican Republic?
Rumor has it that Brad Pitt has spent some time looking around the Dominican Republic for a summer home. This has meant a boost in tourism, which we mentioned before, but Brad won't be headed to the resorts if he's looking to buy. The north side of the island country is known for its beautiful coastline and private beaches, and that is where he seems to have been looking. Now, he apparently wants it to be similar to his old house in Los Angeles, we have to ask whether he wants a similarly large property of a property in the same price range. He probably will build a custom home if he does end up in the Dominican republic, but here there are certainly more than a few existing properties to choose from.
It is difficult to find homes in the $22 million price range, though since Brad and Jennifer are reportedly splitting the money from the sale of their former home, perhaps it's just as well. Their LA house had over 12,000-square feet and 5 bedrooms, so starting with that baseline, here are a few potentials:
For $7 million, you can get this massive 15,000-square foot villa on the North Coast. The property has 9 bedrooms, including 7 king-sized suites, 2 living rooms, 2 kitchens and comes fully furnished with a well-equipped entertainment lounge. In addition to a 3,5000-sq foot pool, it overlooks the ocean and a private, white sand beach. It can also be rented for $2,700 per night.
For just $2.5 million, a 16,145-sq. ft. mountain top villa is available. The home has 4 bedrooms, 9 bath, vaulted ceilings indoors and panoramic views from the terrace. It's not beach front property, but it has a pool, as well as media and fitness centers.
Situated just a few minutes drive from a world-class golf course, this $5.75 million villa has 8 bedrooms, 7 baths, a disco and games room and a total of 12,500-sq. feet of space. It is on two coastal acres and features a black slate-bottomed swimming pool, whirlpool with rock cave, beach bar and a natural-spring fed waterfall pool. It's in a gated community, but is incredibly private due to the geography of the property.
