How much would you pay for a car wash? The Guardian has an article on Paul Dalton, who runs a
company called Miracle Detail that gives what may be one of the most
expensive car washes in the world. It costs £5,000 ($9,198) for his Pinnacle car wash. It's the service Rod
Stewart uses to polish up his Ferrari Enzo. The 52-step process includes multiple washes, pampering with gentle towels
and even the use of a depth gauge that lets Dalton measure the paint thickness so he can smooth out the scratches
without messing up the finish. He waxes with a special kind of Zymöl wax that
costs £7,000 a tube and Dalton keeps in a safe in his fridge. It is made with 73% carnauba wax from the Brazilian
rainforest and just a few tablespoons work on the whole car. His website has a photo gallery full of the super glossy
results.Where To Get Your Lambo Washed

This is just dumb. Surely if it rains you and your £5,000 will be down the drain - literally...

Just plain silly. I've been detailing cars for over 15 years now, and I've used just about every product known to man. I've used the expensive Zymol waxes (the ones not available to consumers) I think they are a big hoax. Sure, they smell nice, and the oils create the illusion of hiding swirl marls and such, but after a rain or even a wash, their effects vanish. Mequiars and Mothers make good stuff, but for my money (and customers), Zaino is the product of choice.

Zaino works best on my show cars, much better than the paste waxes you get at Auto supply houses. Their #2 Polish for cars with clear coats is awesome, I can't believe people with nice cars buy polish with a turtle on it. Mequiars is better than most national brands and will do if Zaino is not there as its hard to find. You ask for it in most auto supply houses and you get that deer in the headlights look from the clerk "never heard of it." they say, thats when I usually ask them if they know anything about car detailing and you get another answer, well you can't really expect much from a guy that works retail now can you ?

First, the 1001 horsepower $1.2 million car, and now the $9,000 carwash. This is REALLY RIDICULOUS and has gotten out of hand.
