Last month, workers caused $
1 million in damages at the Burj Dubai, now
there has been another riot in Dubai. This time
an AP story says that 2,500 foreign
construction workers protested wages and working conditions at the
Dubai
Marina on Wednesday. The workers for the Al-Ahmadiah Contracting company smashed vehicles and machinery at
the site. More than 80 workers, most of them from India,
were
later deported. The marina is the site of a
wide
variety of projects including the recently announced
Dubai Marina
Star.

Deported. Nice word. That's what happens in the rest of the world when immigrants demand more than they're offered and demonstrate. D-E-P-O-R-T-A-T-I-O-N. Yet here in America we sit back while people who are in this country illegally demonstrate for rights they are not entitled to and burn our flag.
Dubai, France, Denmark, America or anywhere else in the world. If Immigrants aren't happy with the work or living conditions the need to leave and go back where they come from.

These deportation methods in Dubai should be used more frequently in the US...

Wow, Scott. What a beautifully human and sharply insightful way of looking at the issue.
First, you're comfortable with the idea of abridging the freedom of speech/assembly of LEGAL immigrants? Sure, there were illegal immigrants involved in those protests, but the idea that we should deport any immigrant who isn't "happy with the work or living conditions" is profoundly un-American.
Second, let's go ahead and deport all of the illegals. Give them a couple days, and they'll be back.
Finally, while I acknowledge the violence perpetrated by the immigrants in this case, I fail to see the wisdom in adopting the labor and immigration tactics of a despotic principality. This is more than just a democracy vs. monarchy debate, it's also a big-ass country vs. city-state debate. What works in one is unlikely to work in the other.
