Molteni Stoves
The New York Times first
covered this last week but the big news at the Kips Bay Showhouse
is the $85,000 stove. The stove is a Molteni, which is owned by Electrolux. They
make gorgeous enamel stoves similar to the Godin or the La
Cornue but they also do distinctive oval stoves. The one in the Kips Bay house is a custom-built red enamel
oval with a chrome grill and uses magnetic heat. The gorgeous Molteni Podium, shown here with matching hood, is
for big kitchens and big wallets but like a Ferrari Enzo it is a triumph of design. If you live in the NYC area you can
check out this gorgeous stove and all the other high end design at the showhouse for $30. [Thanks, CK]
