Top 10 Women's Shoes for Spring

What are the top trends in women's shoes this season? Think heels that are very, very high. Think wedges that tower. And think pointy heels that are super-aggressive. But the look isn't all tough, with feminine touches like bows, ribbons and polka dots softening the look for spring.

Look for plenty of fierce-looking, "Gladiator"-inspired footwear this spring, including Alexander McQueen's leather strappy sandal. Price: $695.

Pumps with curved toes are still in season, but the toes aren't quite as round as last year. Plus, designers are adding small details such as small buckles, seen here on a violet and white pump from Louis Vuitton. Price: $670.

Heels may dominate, but flats also continue to be in season this spring, appearing in metallic colors like gold and silver. These flats from Jimmy Choo are some of the nicest around. Price: $295.

Look for sandals to have more ornate details this season; Calypso adds snakeskin as well as mother of pearl accents to its version. Price: $205.

Wedges go high this spring and take on elements of the espadrille, seen here in Christian Louboutin's ribbon-clad take on the wedge. Price: $375.

Spiky and strong, the blue leather Manolo Blanhik high-heel isn't for the shy. It comes with an ankle strap, another popular feature this spring. Price: $565.

Pink is everywhere this spring, including on sneakers. This pair by Adidas manages to be feminine and fun without being too sickly-sweet. Price: $50.

Prada combines the open toe (another big trend this season) with a Victorian-influenced short boot. Price: $780.

Expect lots of black and white this spring and summer, while Miu Miu's slide also includes a sweet bow, making it feel a bit Daisy Duke. Price: $265.

Strong colors like blue, red and green dominate this spring. Here, Yves Saint Laurent offers up a metallic green pump with a chunky heel. Price: $495.

God awful heels???? I know......men love them,
but how many men where them...they just like the
other women to wear them, but not their wives!!
They look like professional hooker heels. Thanks
for almost making we older (40) women feel left
out, I guess we will have to give up our matron
shoes once again for the sake of fashion.

as a woman who went thru the pointed toes of the 60's, the clogs & David Bowie 6" heel boots to the thighs in the 70's - here it comes again; try walking in 5" spike heels in NYC in the winter - try walking any distance in them and you felt like you wanted to chop your feet off - nothing felt as good as bare feet at your desk - thanks but no thanks

Am a retired person who wore all of those styles at one time or another. Love them!! Just wish someone would design a shoe where all of the toes do not show across the front of the shoe. Just make a small opening for a toe or two. Other than that--super styles. There is nothing like a good pair of high heels!!

women need to gather some respect for themselves and get grounded in their fashion sense.These styles are bad for your feet--it is like being in bondage or a geisha for some man's pleasure--there is no pleasure for you in knowing you might fall over any minute and break some thing. Your toes are all crunched together and are crying out for room and your feet will hurt,Get offthe vanity track and create your own sweet style but make it comfortable for yourself not stupid.

Jeeezzz, just give me a 2 inch heal sandal with a strap that will hold it on when I am practically running downtown to get from one place to another. Those slip on mules fly across the street if I walk too fast. I don't see how anyone can keep them on if they have to walk fast.

You must be kidding? The heels are even higher? Are women designing these shoes, or is it all old men, lusting for a woman to srut like a whore. She won't look too sexy when at the orthopedist for the numerous problems wearing such shoes will inevitably produce. Ladies, send the message to these designers that we want form AND function. Don't buy these torture shoes!

The short boot is worn by goths because they are not slaves to trends. I am not a goth, but I have been wearing them for years as well. The "toeless" part looks pretty stupid though.

What ever happened to just great looking practical shoes that you don't have to take out a second mortgage on your house...I too, am in the 40's range, and always look for some great shoes that are for my age..not re-living my childhood

As a professional woman, I resent that the design world is marketing "office wear" to young girls that includes suits with short shorts, hooker shoes and flip flops as "acceptable" wear. They aren't. Girls, don't be "stupid girls" like the song says. Designers are desperate in a tight economy to remain fresh and ahead of their competition, so they sell you out and miss the point.

I like spiked high heels...on women that aren't me. lol I like the espadrilles because of the wedge style heel and I know I won't fall over when I'm wearing them. Also my boyfriend loves any shoe that straps around my ankle. But the flat thong sandal will always be my one true love.

I am 62 and stopped wearing "high" heels in my 20's!!
They kill your feet, hurt your back, and really look rediculous if you think about it! Plus, don't forget the proven fact that they are DANGEROUS!!

Some of the shoes are cute and some look too much like something in a porno video.You can be stylish without looking ridiculous if you take some of these trends,such as colors or certain wearable styles and incorporate them into actual wearable shoes.I think some of the designers need to think about their designs a little bit more realisticly and realize that women have better things to do besides wearing some of these ridiculous designs and just stand there and look pretty!Think pretty,stylish and actually wearable!!
