True Religion, Princy and Jessica Simpson

Jessica Simpson is being sued for $100 million by the Tarrant Apparel Group, the clothing company that put out Jessica Simpson's lines of clothing: JS by Jessica Simpson and Princy. According to their deal, Jessica was supposed to promote her own brand by wearing the jeans, though she refused to be photographed in them and, when asked what her favorite brand was by the press, said "True Religion."

True Religion jeans sell for approximately four times more than the Princy line, which retailed for around $60. It seems unlikely that the Princy line will stick around in light of the lawsuit, but perhaps True Religion will pick Jessica up as a spokesperson. True Religion 'Joey' Miss Groovy jeans, $286.00.

It's sad that she won't promote he rown clothing line, if she doesnt like it how can she expect others to? she problably just wants to be seen in designer jeans

I find it funny that everyone is using this situation to bash on how stupid Jessica Simpson is. 1) I do not know her other than what is placed in the media, and anyone with two pennies for brains knows that not everything on TV is real or accurate; the story is from the viewpoint of the author. 2) I don't recall Simpson saying she does or does not like her brand of jeans, just that her FAVORITE brand is True Religion; Oh My God, lets sue her for being honest rather than being like every other money-grubbing celebrity out there just trying to rake in more money. This WOULD NOT even be an issue if her name was not so huge. Furthermore, not all jeans are designed to fit every body figure; I have my preference on jeans, and I do not think that would change if I designed a pair I thought would be beneficial to the public at large, but were not perfect for me.

It is funny how judgmental some people can be, when this really is just a pathetic excuse by the designing company to get some extra money by taking advantage of a name... probably some fat woman with bad acne or an old fart with no hope of getting laid's jealous idea of getting the better of a gorgeous, famous celeb.

I mean, to have your own brand and not be proud of it is kinda shady.....I think the problem that lies in fashion is people thinking that the more expensive the peice the better the item is.....But i dont belive it...i think fashion is what u make it

Jessica is not stupid, she's just a spoiled brat that needs knocked off her pedestal. She's been handed too much for too long and doesn't remember what it's like to not be a celebrity. Her fans are what made her and who pay her...she needs to remember that!!!!

I am sorry but if you are going to design clothes you should be proud enought to wear them. otherwise i and i am sure others are just going to assume you designed crap and nobody is going to wear crap. and don't bother counter suieing! you fucked up you need to pay the price. you had a contract and you broke it!

We all have to remember that celebrities are regular people just like us. We all have "blonde moments" and say stuff that we wish we could take back. I'm sure Jessica is now wishing she could take that statement back. Let's give her a little slack.

Well what Jen and Tabitha have OBVIOUSLY forgotten is Jessica, upon being given money to create the line in the first place, told the entire free world, that these will be clothes modeled after the styles that she "HAPPENS TO WEAR" and that she "WOULD BE WEARING THEM THE FINAL SEASON OF NEWLYWEDS". She never wore them on Newlyweds. And granted not EVERY designer has to wear their own clothes becuase only JESSICA signed a legal contracting stating she would. That was her dumb move. Now she breeched the contract and will lose money. After she loses money to Nick in the divorce settlement and the fact she was never worth 100mil to begin with she'll have to settle out of court, then she'll be broke.

I think Jessica is a great entertainer, but she isnt quite as smart as she thinks she is. I know they've said that she put on the "dumb blonde" act for MTV but sometimes, i think she has taken it too far. She can't keep the promise...or "contract" of marriage to nick...what makes us, "the fans" think she can keep the contract w/ the clothing line to promote...she's losing left and right!

Nick wasn't around to remind her to say or wear her own jeans. Didn't he used to take care of her. Even though the looks he gave her when he didn't approve of what she said or did would have intimidated anyone.
