True Religion, Princy and Jessica Simpson

Jessica Simpson is being sued for $100 million by the Tarrant Apparel Group, the clothing company that put out Jessica Simpson's lines of clothing: JS by Jessica Simpson and Princy. According to their deal, Jessica was supposed to promote her own brand by wearing the jeans, though she refused to be photographed in them and, when asked what her favorite brand was by the press, said "True Religion."

True Religion jeans sell for approximately four times more than the Princy line, which retailed for around $60. It seems unlikely that the Princy line will stick around in light of the lawsuit, but perhaps True Religion will pick Jessica up as a spokesperson. True Religion 'Joey' Miss Groovy jeans, $286.00.

I recently bought a pair of the Princy jeans - unbeknownst to me that they were JS labeled - but I swear they are the best fitting jeans I've bought in ages! I do hope they continue their market, I've found my new favorite!

Regardless of whether or not we like Jessica or hate her, the fact at hand is that she broke her contract with the apparel company (by not promoting the brand), thus she is being sued. That goes 4 any business deal...she just didn't do her side of the contract. She didn't have any trouble promoting Pizza Hut tho. Maybe she wanted the clothing line to include some daisy duke shorts...lol

As for not being photographed in her own line to promote her jeans, that was poor judgement, but come on. Do you think if you asked the Olsen twins what their favorite brand is they would say Mary Kate and Ashley? Just because you make clothes doesn't mean it has to be your number one favorite.

When you are contractually obligated to do something, like wear the jeans you SUPPOSEDLY designed, that means that you made a promise and if you do not live up to that promise you can be sued. Just another gold star in Jessica's "dumb a _ _" column.

She should take a lesson from Jaclyn Smith and Kathy Ireland...promote your own clothing line. Jaclyn Smith even wore her own line of clothes on Oprah. Just goes to show how completely un-sophisticated and selfish this child is.

In the beginning Jessica was all about being a virgin & all that stuff & she downed Brittany Spears & Xtina but now she is just like them. Just trying to get the $$$$ for anything any everything. You have to realize that she may have not had much to do with the whole designing of the jeans. Her father is the one who runs everything, and it was probably his way to make more profit. Since she his such a flake, he probably just said here, sign this, and she did. Then she walked away, giggling and flipping her hair, with the usual bewildered look on her face.
