True Religion, Princy and Jessica Simpson
Jessica Simpson is being sued for $100 million by the Tarrant Apparel
Group, the clothing company that put out Jessica Simpson's lines of clothing: JS by Jessica Simpson and Princy.
According to their deal, Jessica was supposed to promote her own brand by wearing the jeans, though she refused to be
photographed in them and, when asked what her favorite brand was by the press, said "True
Religion."
True Religion jeans sell for approximately four times more than the Princy line, which retailed for around $60. It seems unlikely that the Princy line will stick around in light of the lawsuit, but perhaps True Religion will pick Jessica up as a spokesperson. True Religion 'Joey' Miss Groovy jeans, $286.00.

How much is Jessica Simpson countersuing for -- I mean, it's pretty obvious they are trying suit in order to build their Tag Appa. brand market ditribution -- right?
samantha Apr 11th 2006 7:21AM
yeah put some pants on!

they're just hatin'. Jessica Simpson is hotter than a summer's day in July, eatin' jalenpeno peppers, while lightin' yourself of fire so of course they're gonna sue her for millions...she's got it goin' on and they wanna peice. simple as that.

just another pie in the face for Jessica. She looks more like a genius everyday...lol
beth Apr 11th 2006 7:43AM
Just goes to show she really is a dumb blonde, which I have said to people on numerous occasions when her name has been brought up in conversation. Why would anyone be so stupid and not wear the jeans or at least be photographed in them for publicity?

Come on Jessica, first the chicken from the sea incident now this...has the bleach from your hair really got into your brain...GEZ Pink is right about her song "STUPID GIRLS"
Lacey Apr 11th 2006 9:23AM
Well, at least we know she is honest about the brands she wears...she's not being PAID to say she likes them. She's being SUED for saying her honest opinion. Oops.

Another good reason to keep fashion design to the fashion designers. If Jessica Simpson actually had a passion to create beautifully designed well made clothing, instead of mass market, cheap crap to make the big $$$ then she wouldn't be in this wee little predicament.

idiot!!!
Maria Apr 11th 2006 9:53AM
I guess Jess is a little stupid after-all. Why would you want to desigen clothes that you don't even like or would not wear???? That doesn't make any sense. How would you promote your line without advertising?? My goodness, she was nothing until she met Nick, lol, sadly.Just goes to show.... Celebrities are just regular, ordinary people!!
LILLY Apr 11th 2006 9:56AM
all this shows is that all of a sudden she thinks she is too good to wear the same jeans she expects her fans to wear just because her name is on it.
She has to rememeber that if Britney Spears were still single and in the top of her game, Jessica would be, Jessica who? like before
Maria Apr 11th 2006 9:58AM
Jessica has everything done for her. So my guess is she probably didn't care what the line of clothing looked like. Sounds like a cheap way to make money but you can't promote without advertising. She has no problem telling the world about her acne issues. Why not wear a low-priced pair-of jeans! Now her fans may think "Jeez,Jessica think's she's to good for these jeans.... Ha so am I"......
Jennifer Apr 11th 2006 10:09AM
If Jessica would not wear her own jeans that totally does not give me any reason to want to wear her jeans. You would think she would take pride in something she supposedly helped to make. Celebrities should know how to plan better, being so much in the spot light all the time.
tabitha Apr 11th 2006 10:15AM
Her jeans actually aren't crap, but thanks for trying. I have a pair (that I didn't get because of the name). I tried them on just for giggles and they actually turned out to be my new favorite pair of pants. I absolutely love them. They fit perfectly and after you wear them they don't stretch out like most jeans and lose their fit. I would tell anyone to buy a pair, even Jessica herself. It was a dumb move on her part for publicity-sake in my opinion but at least she is being honest. Who are you to judge?
Jen Apr 11th 2006 10:49AM
Not everyone that designs a clothing line has to wear the clothes or even like them. They are designing clothes for the public and we all have different tastes. I would think it selfish if she only designed clothes with her own taste in mind. How about people that design maternity or kids clothes??? Are they being sued for not wearing them? The world is SUE happy and everyone is just out for the all mighty DOLLAR.
jeannie Apr 11th 2006 11:08AM
in a way you gotta give her a little credit (even though she doesn't know it yet) cause now people are gonna be curious to buy these jeans and the millions they're sueing for are gonna be made in prophet just because of this stupid scandel... Just like the Chicken of the sea.
~*mAgGiEz*~ Apr 11th 2006 11:12AM
Well it was kindda dumb of her to not want to wear her own brand of pants and even thougt she has a favorite brand, at this time she maybe should of just kept that to her self. Anyway I still think she's hott and really like her music...just as long as she stays down to earth....not like BS...what the heck happend to her!!???...anyway that's besides the point.:)
Laura Apr 11th 2006 11:17AM
way to go Jess! You're going a long way
to disprove the dumb blonde stereotype.
Sadly, after paying the $100 million, she
still won't be any smarter for the wear (har har)
Michele Apr 11th 2006 11:18AM
Plain and simply...Jessica Simpson is not the brightest bulb in the lamp so she probably was just too dumb to think "hey, maybe I should actually say I like my brand of jeans..." Besides, she is soooo over that nobody should even care what brand of pants she sells or wears.
