Though there is still time to spare before summer, it might be difficult to get a reservation at one of the Travel
Channel's picks for most
expensive hotel suites. When you are spending upwards of $4,000 a night, however, the "necessity" of
reservations may just turn out to be a minor inconvenience. Here is the list, with the rates listed per
night:
10. Coco Chanel Suite, Hotel Ritz, Paris - $4,300 to stay in the room
that Coco herself lived in for 37 years.
9. Presidential Suite, Beverly Hills Hotel, Beverly
Hills - $4,700 for a chef, butler, kitchen, grand piano and a chance to live like the stars
8. Peninsula Suite, The Peninsula, Hong Kong - $4,875, including butler service
and a chauffeured Rolls Royce
7. Royal Suite, The Lanesborough, London - $5,837,
with private security and personal butlers for the 3 bedroom suite with a floor-to-ceiling view of Hyde Park
6. Royal Suite, Burj Al Arab, Dubai - $6,800 to stay in the world's tallest hotel,
with a private screening room, views of the ocean and use of the hotel's helipad
4. Triplex Suite, The New York Palace, New York - $10,000 includes a 4,000-square-foot room, rooftop getaway and personal butlers with room service from Le Cirque
3. Presidential Suite, The Four Seasons, New York - $10,000 for a sleek, ultra-contemporary room with a 24-hour staff, lots of TV monitors and marble baths with whirlpools
2. Presidential Suite, St. Regis, New York - $10,500 includes the ultimate in elegant opulence, with wall-to-wall antiques, tapestries and a complete personal staff
1. Presidential Suite, The Plaza, New York - $15,000 per night buys 7,800-square-feet of space and an entire floor of the hotel. The suite has 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms, a library, two living rooms, a private wine cellar, four balconies, maids, a butler and chauffeur with a Rolls Royce, not to mention an on-call personal chef.

The Bridge suite, for some reason, wasn't on Travel Channel's list. It got it's very own post, instead: http://www.luxist.com/2006/04/02/the-bridge-suite-at-the-atlantis/

The Plaza is no more. It's being turned into luxury condos. Only the lobby will remain accessible to the public with shops, restaurants and the famous tea room.

The suites at the LV Strip mega hotels (Bellagio/Wynn/Ventian, etc) are all considerably more expensive than these. What's this list based on?

The Plaza Hotel closed about 1 year ago! You must have meant a different hotel?

VERY outdated. As others mentioned, the Plaza is closed and Le Cirque hasn't been at the New York Palace for a year now. Sloppy.

Typical AOL content....they ran this same article at least 4 times in the past. Ever notice how many articles and other "content" are rehashed from the past? No fact checking, not even any spell checking in their articles and news stories.....

The Presidential Suite @ The Plaza in New York was amazing. I had a great time when I spent the week there. Planning on going back this summer for two weeks.

The prices of some suites are absolutely insane.$15,000
per weak or so would seem atleast ok, but 15k for just one night is ridiculous.

I agree with the person who wrote that they ran this same article at least 4 times in the past. They do this alot with various different subjects. As several have stated, they do so without taking the time or effort to check the facts. AOL is becoming a embarrassment. Obviously they just throw old articles in to fill space. Little wonder their stock has fallen considerablly in recent years.

The plaza will open late 2006 and will operate as a hotel (150 rooms or so) a condominium hotel (another 100 rooms or so) and private condominiums (300+) and so is a true mixed use building.

I have stayed at the Ritz Carlton in Laguna Nigel, in California for less than 300/night for a a 3bdrm suite on the beach with a view and other amenities and felt like a QUEEN !
15000.00 seems like a lot of money to have a bed to go to sleep in.
