Longines Watches For Baselworld 2006
Longines is showing off four main models at
BaselWorld. Longines isn't one of the companies that produces intricate whirling tourbillons, massive bulky bolted
watches, or gem-heavy dazzlers, instead they specialize in classic and refined looks. The first are the latest
incarnations of their Les Elegantes line, a look back at the delicate Art Deco watches of the 1920s and 30s. This year
they are using three designs inspired by their collections dated from 1928 and 1931.
The new BelleArti collection another look that
harks back to the 1920s. This watch is based on a historical model, and is slim and curved with a subtle use of
diamonds along the sides of the case and graceful blued hands.
The Longines Clous de Paris is an elegant men's watch and the most function-heavy of the watches they are showing. I particularly like the ornamentation of the dial which is mimicked by the decoration on the case.
The Longines Spirit watch is based on a model from the 1920s. Sporty and yet refined, it's a big bold men's watch that comes in a variety of styles with date and chronograph functions.
