The development at
170 East End Avenue in Manhattan promises couture homes. The Garden Homes Development
purchased Beth Israel Medical Center’s Singer Division property and is creating this residential development
designed by architect Peter Marino. The new building has a 19-story tower on the avenue and two low-rise wings on the
side streets with a garden between them. The lower floors of the complex will be faced with limestone and granite, the
rest will be faced with limestone-colored concrete and the center section will be glass. The
HH Realty Group blog
recently checked out the development and reported that it is swimming with amenities that include a game room,
simulated golfing range, a movie theatre, a gym, squash courts, library, billiards, and a children's yoga and craft
studio. The apartments have floor-to-ceiling windows and most of the apartments are, since they are aimed at families,
three or four bedrooms. The
New
York Observer reported that the sales office at 170 East End Avenue recently opened with prices ranging from $1.495
million for the one-bedroom apartments to $8.25 million for a 3,619-square-foot, four-bedroom apartment. The
developer, Michael Wilf likes the place so much he will be taking up residence on the 19th floor when the building
opens next year.
