Wyoming Estate, Estate of the Day

It's perhaps the ultimate log cabin on steroids. We've seen big houses in the Jackson Hole, Wyoming area before but this one is truly huge. The estate offers 12430 sq. ft. of living space in three buildings on over 37 acres with access to the Snake River. It has beautiful views of the Teton mountains, a three acre pond and offers private fly-fishing on miles of streams and creeks. The luxury compound includes the nearly 8,000 square-foot log home as well as a custom log guest house and a bath house. The Western-style furnishings are included. It is listed at $32.5 million. After the jump, we hope you like antlers, because there are some in practically every room. Also check out the cool tree trunk columns at the front of the house.

There can be no doubt that the setting is gorgeous and at 12,000+ square feet of housea is accomodating. However, the $32.5 million is far too high and the land much too small - only 37 acres.
Is that supposed to be construed as a deal? Less than a $1 million per acre plus house?
There are prettier places in the world for far less money - including ski communities.

Marabou Ranch Steamboat Springs Apr 13th 2006 8:02PM
A truly spectacular home. I love how they did the tree roots into the rocks but would have kept that in just a few place to make it special instead of using it everywhere. In Steamboat we have Land Preservation Subdivisions where were are starting to see houses of this quality but for less than $10M. Marabou Ranch is a good example if the newest in luxury ranch subdivisions where you can get most the the normal benfits of owning a large ranch and many others you wouldn't get without the burden of managing and maintaining such a large property.
