Victoria's Secret doesn't have the lock
on diamond garments. This year's 2006
Sports Illustrated Swimsuit
issue features the $
30 million Diamond Bikini. The bikini,
designed by Susan Rosen with Steinmetz Diamonds, contains over 150 carats of D Flawless diamonds. Some of the diamonds
are the rarest in the world including a 51-carat, pear-shaped diamond, a 30-carat emerald cut, a pair of 15 carat
rounds and a pair of eight carat pear shapeds. The stones are sent in platinum for one valuable and very tiny
bikini. After the jump, Molly Sims models the teeny weeny pricey bikini.

So when do we get to see the diamond jock strap???

I think it is amazing that evryone is so upset because the cost of the bikini could be used for something that in their mind is more important. It is so easy to spend someone elses money. But damn...........she looks good.

Ah people! Once again, a marketing scheme has succeeded! A company shows off its money with some elaborate, uber-expensive item, then has a sexy model wear it. It has been going on for years, I'm afraid, and will be for many more. Sure, it sets inrealistic goals for women . . . and the money spent could have been spent otherwise. But just look at the commercials on tv and the ads in magazines. The money spent there makes this looks like pocket change. As long as sex and greed sell, things like this will be seen for years to come. Also, I would like to add that she looks stunning. Natural beauty (and that which is enhanced with air-brushing) is something we should admire, not scorn. Don't be so jealous of the young lady

How can anyone think that A picture of Molly Simms is not one of the most beautiful sights you will ever see. Why would the human body considered "porn". It's amazing that there are actually children being born with that kind of attitude.

The girl is gorgeous, of that there is no doubt. A whore? Do you know her or is this just a judgement based upon the fact that you don't approve of her occupation? There are plenty of men and women who have occupations that I do not agree with, but I will reserve judgement until I know them.
As for the gaudy and wasteful use of materials...lets feed the poor, provide health care and homes to the homeless, and then worry about swimsuits or the lack thereof.

This whole tread has made me laugh!
1. Its a gimmick, comissioned a prop. It will never be sold. It was created to break a record and will be broken down and the stones used for other purposes. It is ugly, totally impractical but is a great piece of advertising for the creator, the magazine, and the model.
2. The model is beautiful. Anyone who says otherwise obviously has personal issues!! She is doing a very well paid job as an astute businesswoman who uses her God given talents to their fullest. Those commentors who stoop to namecall should be ashamed of themselves, ignornace and jealousy are definately NOT attractive.
3. Airbrushing is a fact of life, show me a professional advertising or editorial photo that hasn't been airbrushed.
4. I am not surprised that this thread has generated so many comments, it is afterall about an advertisment which has obviusly done what it set out to do. Strange though that the item about the $1.65 million dollar diamond studded fruitcake (another ludicrously expensive totally useless item) hasn't raised a single comment since it was posted at the start of December! Am I the only person who finds that more vulgar?
Dan Feb 21st 2006 10:11AM
She's beautiful. The suit? is ridiculous. How about a view from the back?
Eric Feb 21st 2006 10:35AM
Please call Al Gore we found the "Lock Box"!

She needs to read all these comments, she is very vulgar and the guys just want to eat her up! Umm This is a vain and silly thing I wish we could get back to real style and beauty but that takes work and our nation just seems to be getting so lazy.

I must say this photo is very hot, but don't you think 3o million is alittle to much for a bikini that you can't wear to the beach alittle extreme i'd say. She needs a million dollar diamond belly button ring to complete this outfit.

Stars are nothing more than solid objects filled with hot gas.

Alan Feb 27th 2006 2:56PM
To the woman who thinks Molly Sims is smart, apparently you havent seen the show Las Vegas, or heard her speak. Some women are NOT smart and only beautiful. She is one.

For all you guys that talk about how people are wasting money on such and such, you should really think back to the time where you used an extra piece of toilet tissue or kept the water on while brushing your teeth. All the tiny things that the aggregate of consumers do add up to harm the planet more than someone who created a $30 million dollar bikini, which will probably go on display in a museum one day, or hang on a rich billionaires closet never to be used. Most of the money in most auctions do indeed have a significant portion donated to needy causes, how often do you, yourself donate money to the Red Cross or such institutions. The fact that you are so quick to judge their actions while overlooking the tasteless things that many normal people do make me sick because we all have flaws.

Where do I find a picture of her in the bikini for my photo collection?

Its Incredible !!!! Very Beautiful and Class at its Best , These women are incredible aren't they? You shouldn't be angry at this , the gals work hard to look this way, especially in this OVERSTUFFED OVEREATING Nation we live in!!!!
val Mar 19th 2006 12:05AM
First of all, if I had the $30 million to blow, I'd invest it in the island! Secondly, Sarah ought to stop hating on the bikini model simply because she doesn't have the body to wear it..if I had the body, I would be happy,(happy all the way to the bank), and besides, a "whore" is a sexually active, promiscuous person-modeling skimpy, overpriced swimwear doesn't warrant the rude name-calling...get a life, Sarah
