The unique
structure shown here is from Vancouver developer Concord Pacific.
The Erickson is a new
luxury condominium development created by
architect Arthur Erickson. The
design has concrete steel trussing and a curving shape with glass on all sides. The building will be 20 floors, with
three units per floor and each one will have balconies or terraces.Tower suites have elevator doors that open into a
grand foyer with floor-to-ceiling windows. The Erickson also has fiber-optic technology, security and amenities
including a 24-hour concierge and a fitness facility including a pool and underwater sound system. The prices for
ground-level townhomes and tower suites are priced from approximately $1.6 million to $4 million and up. T
he Erickson is expected to be completed by 2008. Another
picture of the unique building
can be found here. The design
reminds me of
Santiago Calatrava's Turning
Torso.

Arthur Erikson has designed a number of residential buildings in Vancouver, with the Waterfall Building and Monte Verde Estates being two of the more well known structures. Contrary to the dull buildings that were constructed in the 60’s and 70’s, Erikson’s buildings combine visual appeal with modern design elements.

Your textual comments on the Erickson (on Homer St.) are indeed correct (and with reported sales at $1800CDN a sq. ft., the most epensive luxury condos in Vancouver) However the picture is incorrect. The picture is of another Vancouver project being designed by Mr. Erickson -1133 W. Georgia ( http://www.mcmparchitects.com/WorkInProgress.cfm/inc=WorkInProgress/ProjectID=134/CatID=13 which is a mixed hotel/condo project whichh is still in permiting stage and has not been released for sale.
