Montinore Sold

When I first blogged about Montinore, a vineyard and estate for sale in Oregon, I hoped it would find a good owner. Oregon Live reports that Rudy Marchesi, who has served as president of Montinore Estate winery since 2003, has purchased 240 acres of the 585-acre estate. The original asking price of $5 million included the handsome mansion shown here but Marchesi's deal doesn't include the home or the adjacent land. It hasn't been revealed how much Marchesi paid but he has big plans to grow the winery's production and reach. I wonder if the house is still up for sale, I haven't found a listing yet.

Interesting that they are selling the winery. They need to improve the way they handle customers at the winery. My wife and I went there this Saturday and got turned away. (even though there were only 3 cars in the parking lot) Yes, we were celerbrating our 25th wedding ann. and so we hired 2 limos and had 7 couples with us. But we had visited with that number of people before, just in more cars, and never been turned away. When someone comes out and tells you you have to get back in your car and leave, it doesn't encourage you to come back.
