The first plane announcement of the
new year comes from
Tecnam, an Italian aviation company.
AV Web reports that they will build a
new plane, a light twin called the P2006T, which will sell for under $300,000. The new P2006T will have retractable
gear and hydraulic constant-speed props. It is expected to cruise around 147 knots, 53-knot stall, an empty weight of
about 1,400 pounds, and a useful load of about 1,000 pounds. It is a four seater with an optional glass panel and two
Rotax 912 engines with 100 hp each. The first flight is scheduled for September 2006 and customer deliveries are
expected to start in 2007.
