HGTV Dream Home 2006
This year's HGTV Dream Home is
is more understated than luxurious. The AP
reports that for the 10th edition of the Dream Home giveaway, Home and Garden Television created a 5,700-square-foot
home in the Blue Ridge foothills overlooking Lake Lure in North Carolina. The home has porches to take advantage of the
mountain views and is designed so that the home's owners can live in one wing and guests stay on the other side. Other
details include a game room, crafts room, wine cellar and exercise room. If you like the location you can build your
own home at Grey Rock in the Lake Lure community which is a collection of over
900 homesites. Pictures of the HGTV home are available on their
website. Please note: To enter the contest: please visit the HGTV site.

I would love to have this home for my family. My husband has been through so much, he had a grandfather and uncle die in the same month and he lost his daddy at 12. He needs a place where he can get away from all the hassles of life and so do I! Please enter me to win this dreamhome!

I am a psychologist. I love this home in the mountains. I have two friends who are establishing a retreat for couples who have lost a child. They are naming this retreat "Bryan's Oasis". If I would receive this home I would like them to be able to use it for these couples. Would that be possbile?

Again, if I win this house, I will share it with my
long time friend and her family. We worked together for many years and often spoke about one of these days we would have a house in the mountains with rocking chairs on the front porch. We would sit, rest and enjoy the view. This is the perfect house for all of us. Remember MR? gig

Yes! There are lots of taxes on the dream home. Go to MSN web site for an article about the last 9 winners. Only 2 can afford the initial sales tax and yearly property taxes. You could always sell it and pocket the cash!

We saw the 2006 Dream Home on HGTV. My children sat with their jaws dropping saying "Mommy could you ever imagine having a home like that?" We have been trying to repair ours for such a long time, now my mother and Aunt have to move in too. My children were both born and raised in the country, they would feel back at home again. Dreams do come true, please consider us as the winners of this fantastic home.
