We are still in the throes of the holiday pig-out but Fashion Wire Daily has a piece on the ultra-elite club that is part of Equinox Fitness Clubs. The E-Elite Training Center is an invitation-only gym located in their Columbus Circle gym in New York City. The private 6,000 sq. ft. club is hidden by a door that opens using a retinal scan. Inside, a group of personal trainers assess your fitness and then put you through your paces. Those who have joined (spending $23,500 per year) include P. Diddy, Beyoncé, Naomi Campbell and Will Smith. Instead of a locker room there are private cabanas. It’s no walk in the park though. According to the article, the trainers are full of information on the ways to burn fat and increase muscle including Romanian deadlifts, weight training and of course plenty of push-ups and crunches. The trainers keep the workouts both effective and interesting. It seems that the most important things that E-Elite offers are privacy (no chatty Cathy on the treadmill next to you) and the the personal attention of trainers who are committed to helping you achieve fitness goals.
