Bonhams Wine, Port and Old Whisky Sale
On Tuesday, Bonhams in London is having a sale of wine, port and old whiskies that includes the chance
to snap up some rare bottles. Historic bottles include a lot of two delivered to the cellars of Buckingham Palace
as samples during the reign of Queen Victoria. The label on each bottle is printed with Queen VIctoria's Crown and are
believed to have been bought from the palace cellars in 1902. The bottles are expected to fetch between £400 - 600.
Other items include a bottle of Kinclaith 1967 Single Lowland Malt at £320 - 380, a Port Ellen Single Malt at £100 -
130. and a mixed lot containing a bottle of The Macallan 1965 and a Johnnie Walker 15 YO Kilmarnock 400, at £220 - 300
for the two bottles. Another always popular bottle is the Macallan Royal Marriage Malt of 1948 & 1961 (£320 -
400) which is a whisky is made of a mixture of two barrels from 1948 and 1961 and bottled in 1981 to commemorate
the royal wedding of the Prince of Wales and Lady Diana. The sale also includes items from the
cellars of Villa Lorraine Restaurant, which is selling off certain wines while they refurbish their
cellars.
