Sunday Real Estate Round-Up
From the
LA Times Hot Property:
•Ellen DeGeneres is settling into new digs. She bought a compound for $15 million and property next door for a total
of $22 million. The compound sits on an acre and has views from downtown to the ocean. She is also selling off other
parcels she owns including her two-acre Hollywood Hills compound, which was on the the market in June for $12.95
million.
•Proof that having a gimmick pays off, Elvira, Mistress of the Dark (otherwise known as Cassandra Peterson) is sell
her Los Feliz home (shown here) for $2.9 million and heading to Santa Barbara. The three bedroom home has a pool,
playhouse and separate maid's quarters. The listing

•Carlos Boozer of the Utah Jazz has bought a 10 bedroom home on the Westside for $8.6 million.
•A home built for actor John Barrymore in the 1930s is for sale for $5.195 million. The

•We've been chasing this rumor
since June and the
price keeps rising, now it turns out that the 40-acre de
Menil property in East Hampton is about to sell for $105 million.
•Robert Burns is selling his full-floor co-op for the $37 million. The fifth floor home has five bedrooms, a marble
gallery, an industrial-grade kitchen and a pine-paneled library.
•Whoops, last week it was reported that Howard Stern was buying the property next to his Southampton lot. Turns out it was Leonard Stern who was signing the check. Stern, the Hartz Mountain chairman, has bought the $27 million home and put his other Hamptons home, a four bedroom in Bridgehampton, on the market for $12.5 million.

Deal:
•Holly Hunter, who is expecting twins, is moving to a four-bedroom unit on Fifth Avenue that she bought from another
twins-producing actress, Julia Roberts.
•Lew Frankfort, chairman of Coach owns a four-story apartment at the Beresford that extends into one of the three
towers in the building and he has even bought the attic with high ceilings near the tower's top. There is a tower room
with the panoramic views. He's not the only one with a tower in the Beresford, Helen Gurley Brown and John
McEnroe each have one although Frankfort's may have more space.
•Eve Chilton Weinstein may have lost a tubby husband (she's the ex of Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein) but
she's gained some nice real estate. She's now sole owner of their Manhattan apartment. The duplex co-op, a combo of two
units on lower Central Park West has been transferred to her name.
