The December issue of
Popular
Science names the soon-to-be-released 2007 Mercedes Benz S Class as the "Grand Award Winner" of new cars for
2005. They love all the technical gadgetry that makes an appearance in the 9th generation S. Two RADAR
systems are employed in the vehicle, one monitoring up to 480 feet ahead that helps with the distance-regulating
cruise control, and a short range one that assists in anticipating collisions. The V8 version, the S550,
sports 382 ponies that help propel it to 100Km/h in only 5.4 seconds. Other features include night vision,
massaging seats, and DVD-A playback. It will be interesting to see what the AMG package will bring to the
table with the new S. Prices range from $75,000 to $130,000.
