Graves 601 Hotel
One of the good things about the announcements of the AAA Four Diamond ratings is that it always leads me to discover hotels that I did not know existed. The Graves 601 Hotel Minneapolis is is the only establishment in Minnesota to be awarded a Four-Diamond rating for both its hotel and restaurant. The restaurant, Cosmos, is the only Four-Diamond restaurant in the entire state. The 21-story, 255-room hotel has luxury details like Frette duvets and linens, a 42-inch plasma screen TV; a DVD/CD player and a wireless digital keyboard for accessing a library of movies and music, checking e-mail and viewing hotel information. The bathrooms have wall-mounted plasma TVs, contemporary vessel sinks, and a power shower with rain showers, shower towers incorporating five body jets, or whirlpools with integrated freestanding showers. The restaurant, Cosmos, serves global cuisine and the executive chef, Seth Bixby Daugherty, was chosen in 2005 by Food & Wine magazine as one of the top 10 new chefs in North America. Bed and breakfast packages start at around $250 per night on the weekends.
