Dell Pushes Style and Luxury
Dell is trying to pick up lagging sales growth by offering more stylish and luxurious computers. The XPS line features sleek titanium, silver and black designs aimed at "conveying strength, drama and boldness." Are they trying to compete with Apple's style and hipness? Possibly, but they have a long way to go. They are however paying more attention to style which is refreshing.

I think Dell's onto something here... By providing computer products aimed at "conveying strength, drama and boldness", they provide an alternative to the Apple product line that seems aimed at conveying femininity, emasculation and androgyny. I would guess that in the computer buying population "regular Joes" outnumber women and metrosexuals by a decent margin, so Dell should do well with this approach.
