Montegrappa's 1849 E-W Limited Edition Pen is inspired by the Gold Rush (which started in 1849). The story of this journey is shown on barrel and cap showing the pioneers' wagon trains and the gold prospectors. The pen has low-relief engraving on the barrel and the cap. The 1849 E-W Collection includes 490 fountain pens and 490 rollerball pens in sterling silver, 49 fountain pens and 18 rollerball pens in 18K yellow gold with precious stones and fine lacquering (31 diamonds and 31 rubies) and18 fountain pens in 18K yellow gold with precious stones that create a star in the colors of the American flag (41 diamonds, 25 rubies and 40 sapphires).
