Banyan Tree Lijiang Set For April 2006 Opening
Banyan Tree Hotels has announced another in their series of luxury reteats. The next one, the Banyan Tree Lijiang, will open in southern China in April 2006. The new resort is in the the mountainous Yunnan Province and will have a spa with six heated treatment rooms, a traditional Chinese medicine hall, a gym and a yoga room. The resort will also have 40 deluxe villas, 13 villas with pools, a two-bedroom pool villa and one presidential villa. The villas all have views of the 18,400 ft. Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Other details of the resort include a tennis court, a library and games room and the Bai Yun Chinese Restaurant, which partially floats over a courtyard pond. The Presidential Suite shown here costs $1800 per night. Why travel to Lijiang? It's one of China's most well-preserved small towns. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is famous for its Venice-like network of small canals. For some beautiful pictures of Lijiang, check out the site here.
