The Top 10 Richest Men Of All Time
AskMen has trawled through history and dug up (figuratively, of course) the richest men who ever lived. Tech luminaries Bill Gates, Paul Allen, and Larry Ellison are on the list, of course, but they don't hold a candle to the barons of the 19th and early 20th centuries. Topping the list is John D. Rockefeller, who in today's dollars would be worth $200 billion, and Andrew Carnegie at $110 billion, followed by Cornelius Vanderbilt and John Jacob Astor. The only non-Americans on the list are King Fahd of Saudi Arabia and Sheikh Zayed of the United Arab Emirates.
