The new fall menu at Grant Achatz's Alinea
Alinea, the avant garde Chicago restaurant helmed by Grant Achatz (recently named the #1 "tastemaker" and #2 for most expensive restaurants by Forbes), has introduced a new fall menu, and the intrepid foodies at eGullet (in particular one named "yellow truffle") have infiltrated the establishment and taken pictures of each dish of the 24-course tour along with descriptions and impressions. To my untrained eyes it looks at once tantalizing and bizarre. A meal fit for a king—on another planet.
