Las Vegas' Mirage getting a 2006 update

The Mirage, once one of Las Vegas' most prestigious Hotel-and-Casinos but more recently showing a few wrinkles, is getting a facelift next year. The rennovation will include a new high-limit lounge, four new restaurant-and-bars, a new 15,000 square foot nightclub, and a brand new volcano (shown in an artist's rendering above) including "fire explosions which blast taller, lava which appears hotter, sounds which boom louder and an overall more realistic volcano experience." They're also throwing in an unusual-sounding new Cirque du Soleil show which will "celebrate the musical legacy and extraordinary experience of The Beatles." Two Way Hard Three has some more concept sketches that look, well, like concept sketches.

Looking forward to the Cirque/Beatles show, but the concept images of the Volcano enhancements seem a bit much. I remember taking this photo last year (http://www.flickr.com/photos/jenguin/1057120/in/set-27151/) and just with as much fire they're displaying there, and me standing up against the railing - it was pretty darn hot.
