Royal Yacht Bloodhound For Sale
The Royal Yacht Bloodhound is a classic sailing yacht with a long history. She was built by Camper & Nicholson
and launched in 1936. In the 1960s she was the personal yacht for Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip. The yacht is
currently going through a major restoration and and is seeking a new owner. The yacht has a long racing history
including winning the Fastnet race twice. The yacht was designed to be both fast and comfortable. During the eight
years of royal ownership the yacht was often lent to sailing clubs for children to get a taste of sailing. Restoration
work on the yacht has included the renewing of frames and floors, and replacing topside plank sections with 500 feet of
Honduras mahogany as well as relaying the teak decks. The new owner would have the chance to design the interior. It is
listed for £1,700,000 ($2.99 million). The
official yacht website has more pictures of the yacht at various
moments in her history.
