Deepak Chopra plans a new spa
Deepak Chopra, the author and wellness guru, will open a new spa that will be part of a seven-story, $40 million retail and condo complex next to the Westin Westminster Hotel in Westminster, Colorado. The Rocky Mountain News reports that the 17,000-square-foot Rocky Mountain Chopra Center & Spa will be on the second floor of the Ananda Inspired Living center which will be part of the Westminster Promenade, an area of restaurants and entertainment options like movie theaters and mini golf situated between the hotel and the Sun Microsystems Ice Centre. The spa plans to open in the summer of 2007. There will be 60 condos in the building starting in the $200,000 range and going up past $1 million and they will be Co-tels than can be rented out when the owner is not using them. The spa will integrate Western medicine and traditional spa treatments with Ayurvedic techniques. A restaurant at the Westin will offer meals based on Chopra's dietary plans. This is not Chopra's first spa, he founded the Chopra Center for Well Being at La Costa in Carlsbad, California.
