Capella Hotels & Resorts
Horst Schulze is on a roll. A few months ago we covered the launch of his Solis hotel chain. Now his company, West Paces Hotel Group has announced Capella Hotels & Resorts. Capella promises to be a collection of boutique hotels, each of 100 rooms or fewer. The first four hotels will be in Ireland and Mexico with more European and U.S. destinations to be announced later. The two Mexico hotels will be in Cabo San Lucas and Punta Nizuc and both of them will have fractional ownership and Co-tel options. The two Irish hotels will be located in castles, Castlemartyr and Dunboy. Schulze, a former President of the Ritz-Carlton, has gathered a bunch of ex-Ritz employees around him and hopes to offer a luxury experience that will tempt devotees of existing five-star hotels to try something new.
