Ed Pennebaker Glass Art
Ed Pennebaker is the artist behind the amazing glass chandelier shown here. Pennebaker is an artist who has worked in a variety of media including printmaking and traditional crafts. He sells much of his work through museum galleries and gift shops. What's amazing to me about Pennebaker's work (beside its strange beauty) is that he starts with the raw materials (a mixture of silica, soda ash, lime and small amounts of other minerals) which are melted inside a furnace fired with natural gas. Pennebaker then uses a hollow pipe to blow into and inflate the glass, then uses a variety of tools to shape the glass into these amazing shapes. He does sconces, chandeliers and pendants and will do custom commissions.

That looks remarkably like a Dale Chihuly piece. Did Pennebaker happen to work with him?
