The Oculas

Engadget first drooled over it a year ago and now it's available at Hammacher Schlemmer. This egg-like thing is the Oculas. Developed over four years by British designer Lee McCormack, the McLaren Formula One racing team, computer interface designers, and yacht builders it's a little womb that lets you shut out the world and let in the perfect levels of lighting, sound, seating, and privacy you select. It is fiberglass and includes advanced audio, visual, seating, and environment technologies and your choice of Macintosh or PC computer. The super-cool space door closes silently. Inside it has leather seating that you can have as a built-in massage chair. An electronic controller allows the user to adjust the light and and there is an integral surround-sound system and a flat-panel video screen. All functions are controlled by an interactive touch screen. Not for claustrophobics, it sells for $45,000.
