Penderyn Whisky
Welsh whisky? It makes perfect sense, and whisky has has a long history there yet Penderyn whisky is the first single malt whisky to be produced in Wales for more than 100 years. The whisky has just been approved for sale at Harrods. Tastings of Penderyn will be held on a number of occasions during a six-week period to seduce whisky lovers to test it out. The whisky uses Brecon water and is aged in Madeira barrels. The whisky was launched in 2004 and has already received a bunch of awards including the silver medal in the Worldwide Whiskies Category of the International Wine and Spirit Competition 2004 and a gold medal from the True Taste of Wales Food and Drink Awards 2004. The first whisky is four years old but other older whiskies are planned.
