villa de leon

Villa de Leon is one of the most stunning historic houses in Southern California. Built in 1926 overlooking the sea in Pacific Palisades, the over 12,000 sq. ft. vill has more than 35 rooms including nine bedrooms, a library and a circular formal dining room which over looks the ocean. The marble entrance hall has a massive spiral staircase and the library has herringbone design wood floors, built in bookcases and a coffered ceiling.  There are also a variety of original frescoes in the home. The home's website included the article done on it in Architectural Digest in 1928 as well as a series of vintage postcards and a slideshow that will knock your socks off.  The home was original built for wool tycoon Leon Kauffman and originally had formal gardens some of which have been lost to landslides. It is listed at $14,995,000.
