Amadana Telephone
Ilya from over at Travelizmo refers us to the Amadana phone. This sleek contemporary phone has a squared-off base of
acrylic and natural walnut. The receiver has leather backing and the phone has four melodies and an on hold
melody which you can listen to on their site. Our siblings at
Engadget wrote about Japan-based Amadana too.
They were less than impressed and I'm inclined to agree. While I like the acrylic base the phone itself is a bit blocky
(reminds me a bit of the Mobiado). It sells for
12,600 yen ($142). Amadana also has a bunch of other household items with luxury prices and a blocky contemporary
design aesthetic. Overall, I wasn't too impressed but their
quirky little toaster oven which looks like the oven in a
Wallace and Gromit
short is pretty cute.
