Las Ramblas
Details have been announced on the new Las Vegas resort that George Clooney and Rande Gerber are putting together. The resort, named Las Ramblas, is designed to be a hotel, condo and casino complex that will be the largest residential project in Vegas. The hotes is a $3 billion project that is off the Strip. The 25 acre design includes 11 towers, residences, bungalows, spa and healthclub, retail areas, casinos and nightclubs. Don't get ready to visit anytime soon. Construction will begin in 2006 and phase one, which includes a hotel and co-tel units as well as condos should be completed by early 2008. Clooney and Gerber will involved in the overall feel of the complex and Clooney has promised to donate 25% of the profits from his investment in Las Ramblas to the Make Poverty History campaign. The website has more detailed renderings of the massive project including the large outside pool and pedestrian walkway.

Sales for this property have already started. The buzz on it is pretty big, the sales office really doesn't even have set prices for each unit, just a rough cost per square foot which equates to the smallest units starting in the mid $600,000s. There was a rumor that there would be a dress code enforced. So far they aren't saying one way or another, but they definitely aren't catering to the midwest discount tourist trade.
