Located in Ann Arbor Michigan, Zingermans started out as a deli but now offers a wide range of delicious edibles such as bread, cheeses, vinegars, coffeecake and chocolate. They also have a bakehouse, creamery and restaurant. Not headed to Michigan any time soon? Zimmerman's has an extensive mail order catalog and ships worldwide. My personal favorite is the "shock mom silly" collection of baked goods. The gift box includes Sourcream Coffeecake, 4 Classic Currant Scones, 2 Magic Brownies, 2 caramel Dulce de Leche Buenos Aires Brownies, a half-pound of Rugelach, a loaf of Cinnamon Raisin Bread, a nosher-sized Pecan Pie, a jar of American Spoon Cherry Berry Spoon Fruit and a jar of Washington-State Fireweed Honey.

As an Ann Arbor native, I'll admit that the Zingermans mail-order is honestly hard to beat. Although dining in-house is something that every visitor to Ann Arbor must experience, their food- not their selection of cheeses or baked goods- is slightly overrated (and, due to this inflated reputation, slightly overpriced.)
