Amanresorts Plans A Second U.S. Resort
Amanresorts has announced a second resort for the U.S. The Singapore-based hotel chain has a collection of hotels in Indonesia, India and French Polynesia but only one hotel in the U.S., the Amangani (shown here), in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Now they will be creating a luxury resort atop a plateau overlooking Lake Powell. The resort, Amangiri will cost at least $125 million to build and will include a 40-room hotel, 12,000 sq. ft. spa and 28 luxury villas. The resort plans for a spring 2007 opening. The villas are projected to sell for $4.5 million to $6.5 million each.
