Pelorus Gets the Wrong Petrol
Russian billionaire and yacht fleet owner Roman Abramovitch had a bit of bad luck when the wrong sort of fuel was pumped into his beloved yacht, Pelorus. The costly error will lead to an expensive clean-up and Abramovitch was forced to leave the yacht for repairs while he flew to Sardinia. The yacht will join him later after all has been made right again. It's a bad mistake for any boat but when it happens to one of the world's largest yachts there's a lot more cost and fuel involved.

i think he was angry. Its not quite the same but think of driving to thr gas station and getting the wrong fuel for your car. Then walk home ....

This Abromovich is a scoundrel .... he did not even pay 1.37 million sterling to the UK shipyards for the refurbishment of his yacht! How did this russian bear's yacht arrive in the Antibes with MALTESE Fuel? the same fuel and the same source that they are saying was "contaminated"!

Glad you read the SEA but please note that we are a source only for the statement Pelorus arived in Antibes with Maltese fueland that the source was the same as the original (rejected) bunkers. The other comments of H Borg are his own: his description of Mt Abramavich as a "scoundrel" and the claim he left an unpaid yard bill. These statements did not apper in The SEA or The Yahct Report or in any article I have written. Tork Buckley Techncial Editor The Yacht Report/News Editor The SEA
