Fleming Jenkins Announces Victories Rose
Olympic skater Peggy Fleming has segued into a career as a winemaker. Fleming Jenkins makes a Chardonnay, a couple of Syrahs (one of which is made from John Madden's grapes) and a rosé. Fleming Jenkins recently annouced a new project called Victories Rosé. The wine, created by Peggy and her husband, physician and winemaker Greg Jenkins, will raise funds for breast cancer research. All of the net proceeds of this and future vintages of Victories Rosé will be donated to charities supporting the cause. The wine will be sold in a magnum size retailing for $50. The wine comes in a commemorative wooden box. A limited edition of 100 bottles, priced at $100, have been personally autographed by Peggy and Greg Jenkins. 3000 bottles of Victories Rosé will be released for sale in time for National Breast Cancer Awareness month in October 2005.
