Blantyre

One hundred years ago, the Berkshire mountains in Western Massachusetts was one of the most popular places for the elite to spend their summers. With the Boston Symphony Orchestra at Tanglewood, excellent summer stock theater in Stockbridge and and the Mass MoCA there are still a lot of reasons to head to the Berkshires. Blantyre is a red brick mansion that brings back the Gilded Age. The home was designed to look like a Scottish manor and has leaded glass windows and lots of heavy wood trim. The mansion offers eight guest bedrooms and suites in the main house and each room is decorated with antiques. There are also four cottages and additional rooms in the carriage house. The Patterson suite includes a bedroom with a four-poster bed, sitting room with a fireplace and two bathrooms. The suite costs $900 per night.
