A. Lange & Sohne Large Time Zone Watch
On July 8, A. Lange & Sohne officially launched their Time Zone watch in Glashütte, Germany. The Lange Time Zone is a mechanical timepiece that not only tells home time but also indicates the local time for any place on the face of the earth. It has a solid-silver dial with gold hands that permanently display home time. The date display is much larger than that shown on most watches. The smaller dial with Arabic numerals can be set to display the local time in any of the world's 24 time zones. The little gold arrow toward the bottom of the watch points at the city on the rotating city ring whose time is currently being displayed on the smaller dial. The city ring can be advanced zone by zone by pressing the time-zone push piece. The watch comes in platinum or 18K gold and has a sapphire crystal caseback and a crocodile strap.
