We just wrote about hospitals as hotels but some hospitals are also adding hotel amenity, spa treatments. This article about spas in hospitals in Arizona makes the point that in these days of overworked hospital staff, spa treatments can go a long way toward helping stressed patients relax. Oasis Spa at Banner Desert Medical Center is just one of these hybrid treatment facilities that offer massage, waxing, pedicures, and holistic therapies. The treatments aren't covered by insurance of course but combining spa treatments with hospital visits is definitely one way to make the experience of hospital time less dreaded. Now they need to integrate spas with dentist offices.
